The Puppies in our life!

Let me introduce you to two of the most energetic puppies you will ever meet! Bentley and Nala! My Junior year of college I rescued Bentley before he was sent to the pound! I instantly fell in love with his sweet little face and his markings. He is a mix and thats really all anyone can tell us! He's got quite the personality too. He is a follower, he wants to know what your doing and he will be right next to you to watch it happen. When I am cooking he watches closely to see which spices are going where and he makes sure that I measure everything just right! Haha, OK just kidding, I think he is more interesting in eating up whatever I drop but it is still really cute! He loves to give hugs! If you sit down on the floor he will immediately put his front paws up on your shoulders and give a bunch of kisses while you pet him under his arms. He is a real sweet heart and occasionally a little mischievous!

Nala came a year after Bentley and is a full bred Rhodesian Ridgeback. Her breed comes from Africa and they are known as lion hounds. Her dads name was Simba so we found naming her Nala only appriopriate. When we went to the breeder her Dad was a very big Male and had some of the best markings. Her mom was a smaller female and was also very pretty. Luckily Nala took her Mom's size and is right around 70lbs. Comparitively she is the size of a Lab. Nala has more energy than I thought possible! She loves to run and run fast! The first time Brad and I let her loose in an open field we were shocked at how fast she was! She is very well behaved, but she is still a puppy and trash is one of her favorite things right now! She also has a very sweet disposition, her favorite place to be petted is her ridge. We like to call her our "Regal" girl! When she sits down, she gives off this vibe that she is extremely poised, and that she is the queen! Its pretty funny! This isn't the best picture of her sitting like she is on a throne but I will try to capture one!

My Favorite Little Guy!

I feel that it is long over due for me to write about my nephew Q! Well hes not my real nephew but hes as close as they come! Matt and Brittney Poe are some of Brad and I's closest friends! We look up to them in so many ways and always like to hear their words of wisdom! Brittney and I have become really close and seeing that we are sorority sisters it only made sense to become an auntie! Brittney is an only child and so she doesn't have any real sisters, but I told her that I was more than glad to step in and do the job! When your husbands work together day in and day out its nice to know that you have a girl friend/sister to hang out with! And little Quinn, makes the time fly by as we wait on our husbands after another long night! I love you nephew Q and I hope we get to babysit you real soon! To see lots of pictures of baby Quinn, go to his http://www.thepoefam.blogspot.com/! Here are a few I have from the other night at Brad and Matt's basketball game.

Love is in the Air!

On Monday Brad and I celebrated 6 months of being married together! As I wrote in past posts it has been a crazy busy 6 months! But on Monday the world just seemed to stop and it really felt like it was just us! There have been a few moments here and there when I might feel a sense of it being just us, but normally it feels like we are trying to take on the world together one day at a time. This time was different! Brad got to drop me off at work, which meant he would have to pick me up! In our life this is unheard of, we always have two cars because we always are rushing around to meet each other where ever we are going! When Brad picked me up, I was decked out in my Mavs jersey and I was ready for the night o' fun! We ate at Olive Garden for dinner, one of our favs mainly for the breadsticks, and then we headed to the Mavs game! We had great seats and ran into some old friends from Baylor, and of course the Mavs pulled off the win with newcomer Jason Kidd. The night was a total success! But the best part about the night didn't come all at once! Over the past months, marriage has been great, but anyone who is married knows that these months are the most, lets just say "emotional!" I mean the kind where you cry because you find out that your husband has more laundry than a third world country or the mid-sleep bathroom breaks, that you take in the dark, only to fall in because he left the seat up! But as Brad and I talked on Monday we decided that not only are those days behind us but we are making great leaps to the ones in front of us! These past couple of days have really felt like a honeymoon, minus the beach unfortunately! But we always want to be with one another, not to say that we don't normally, but you know what I mean! I couldn't sleep last night because Brad was finishing up a few things for work, but as soon as he crawled in bed I was fast asleep, and then this morning when it was 25 degrees outside he had started my car and wouldn't let me leave without kissing him atleast twenty times! I am so in love with my husband, and each day our love grows and grows! We thank God for our love, because He is love and He brought us together! The best thing about this honeymoon that we are on is that we are getting to share it with our friends and family! I am full of Love and ready to share! Wanna Hug?

Did I ever tell you about...

Christmas??? This year Brad and I celebrated our first Christmas together as a married couple and it was of course crazy busy and fun. It all started in Houston where Brad and I spent Christmas Eve and Christmas day with my family! My parents decided to build a new house and so there was six of us squeezed into a little apartment and it made for lots of fun. We had a great time at my mom's and dad's but the visit was too short because I had to go to work the very next day :(. When we arrived home Brad and I opened gifts for one another and our stockings. Brad got very creative with his gift for me and I had to go through a whole scrap book (yes, I said scrap book, no my husband is not gay!) to find out that he had gotten me a new wallet for my very own shopping day with him, "complaint free", as he put it! I was so excited! Well after our Christmas together we still had one more to celebrate and that was with Brad's family. We waited until the next weekend and it all started again, Friday night was Christmas Eve and Saturday was Christmas day! So much fun! We decided to open up family gifts on Friday and then Santa gifts would come on Saturday. Brad and I got a "Wii" and this is where the really funny things started happening... We set up the Wii right away and the whole family got in on the action including Mom (Margaret) and Dad (Brian). Mom and Dad were playing a friendly game of Wii tennis when all of the sudden Mom takes a hard swing and nails Dad in the wrist, uh oh.... the next thing we hear is the breaking of glass and a loud gasp to silence the room. With no will power to hold back the laughter I bust out and so does the rest of the family, Mom had managed to hit the only uncovered part of the window and the little wii remote fit perfectly into its place as seen here. The very top of the window! After a good night of fun, laughter and Wii it was time for bed. We woke up the next morning to our santa gifts and we were ready for another day. Later that night Mom Margaret and I were making dinner using one of my mom's recipe's so we were cooking together when Dad Brian noticed that a bird was flying around the house. Out of sheer excitement and amazment, I ran upstairs to tell the others. I apparently was like a nagging four year old that always tells you the most unexciting news of the day, because nobody budged! This time out of the shock of no response, I said it again. But still nothing. However, as soon as that bird flew over them as they were playing the Wii, it was WAR! Everyone jumped to their feet and began to grab the gift boxes from earlier that day. We were on a mission to catch the bird! It was swift and crafty and we might not have used the most efficient tools to trap it, but with a few feathers lost, we caught the bird and watched it fly outside to freedom. The Bird! The Bird in the box, failed attempt #1, The box had an "unknown" opening! See if you can find it!Yes, Of course the pool cleaner, the Bird will never find its way out... Failed attempt #2 Bird, hanging upside down on the tassel! No longer on the Tassel, nor in the box... Bird was on the Fan... still not in a box....

See the silver box in the bath tub? The Bird is underneath it!

The Big transfer... bird under the box to in the box in one swoop!

"Third times a charm". Few feathers lost, but no harm done!

Back to Christmas, the night ended somewhat peacefully and it was all in all a Great Christmas!

Time flies when your having...

Time flies when your having fun! Or when you are extremely busy, such as helping your husband as he starts a business, cleaning your house, taking care of two puppies, supporting your husband as a youth minister, leading Bible Studies, and being newly-weds! Well, on February 25, 2008 Brad and I will celebrate our first 6 months of marriage together. We decided to take the night off from our normally scheduled business and go to the Mavs game. I found this picture that we took about a week before we got engaged, at a Mavs game! We are so excited to celebrate together! Speaking of celebrations, we have had several this month! On 2/5/08 we celebrated the launch of http://www.25cloth.com/, Brad and Matt's company. On 2/10/08 we celebrated with our church family, as they showered us with praise and appreciation, they are so sweet! I am not sure I deserved it, because Brad does most of the work, but it was so great to see smiley faces and even meet some new people! I was overwhelmed with the kindness we felt! Thanks so much 4 Corners Family! On 2/14/08 we celebrated our first Valentine's day as a married couple. It was so romantic, Brad cleaned the whole house for me, got me flowers and had lit pretty red candles and was already cooking our steak dinner, that we ate by candlelight! It reminded me of our honeymoon and I wanted to go back so bad! Here's a picture from a candle light dinner on the beach! Ok back to the celebration list! Tomorrow is Brad's 24th birthday and of course we will be celebrating that all weekend with family and friends! Then the Mavs game on Monday! I love it! I love celebrations and all the fun they bring! February has turned out to be the longest Month of the year for us and it is only 29 days long! I can't wait for March and Spring time! After all these celebrations with cakes and lots of goodies, I am going to need to seriously diet for swim suit season, and get a tan! O man I got a lot to do! Enjoy the somewhat consistant posting and new pictures! Hopefully, I will have many more to come soon!

A day at the park!

Today was a beautiful day full of sunshine and blue skies. Brad and I have been waiting for this day for months, the day that we could finally take our dogs to the park again and not freeze to death. A lot has happened leading up to this day and it is all very BLOG worthy! So I will begin with Brad's new company. Brad and his Best Friend Matt Poe, decided that is was time to change the world one T-Shirt at a time. After many weeks of planning and months of designing and developing the Company it is coming together. 25 Cloth is officially operating as an LLC and has already begun to change lives. The mission of Two - Five is to be a reflection of who Christ is by giving water to the thirsty, clothes and shelter to the needy, food to the hungry and nurture to the sick. By buying a T-Shirt that has been designed by 25 you change a life. The first quarters mission is to build 6 clean water wells in Rwanda. Already we have been able to give 81 people clean water and that was with the first weekend of sales. We are so excited to see where God is going to take this new company. All that to say the day at the park has been a long time coming! Not only were
Brad and I enjoying our dogs running and sniffing about but we were glad to be hand in hand with each other after several months of very hard work! The website for 25 is now up and you can read all the information about the company and see the T-shirts to buy. With in the next couple of days you will actually be able to purchase the shirts and change lives! I will definitely post again when this happens!
