A little bit Famous...

It's true! Tucker and I are officially a little bit famous! This weekend Brad and I headed to Waco to support the Baylor Bears!  ESPN College Game Day came to town and we decided to make a showing! And boy did we!  Friday night Emily, Margaret and I worked diligently on some sweet posters.  Our slogans included... "We like our bevo well- DUNN" (for LaceDarius Dunn), "We got an Acy in the Hole" (for Quincy Acy), "You just got served some Wal-Ton soup" (for AJ Walton), and "Good Luck keeping up with the Joneses" (for Perry Jones III and Anthony Jones)... we felt good about them, even if some of them were a stretch... Saturday morning, we woke up early and headed to the Ferrel Center (Baylor's basketball arena).  With it being spring break for Baylor we weren't sure how many students were going to be around, but the crowd was very large and it was such a fun environment. 

Emily and I decided it was time to make our TV debute and got down as close as we could to the camera's.  During the second hour of the broadcast, one of the announcers was talking about BYU and the disciplinary action they were taking against one of their starters.  On screen you can see the one announcer, Rece Davis, close up, in the top left of the screen you see the BYU logo, right next to the logo you see me, Emily made it in the shot too!  Shortly after that, the local news channel came to interview Emily and I... Apparently, we were screaming and super loud so they didn't use our interview but they did let our voices be the cheers you heard as the segment started and then they gave us a close up... to qoute myself "This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and we love Baylor!"  That was my opening line... that they didn't use, haha!  Why is Tucker famous you ask?  Well on one of the broadcast either ESPN or local news, you see a full view of me from the side and Tucker is tucked (hehe) nicely under my LARGE free Baylor shirt!

Emily and I were slightly exhausted after our TV debute and our voices were almost gone, so we all decided to celebrate our fame at Schmaltz's, a waco Original! Turns out, this hole in the wall was the choice lunch of the ESPN college gameday hosts! Schmaltz's did not disappoint, I really need to figure out a way that I can get this delivered to me whenever I want... maybe I can use my new found fame?

The weekend and fame were not over... we still had the Big game that night! Lacedarius Dunn, our senior super star, was a few baskets a way from claiming the Big 12 all time leading scorer.  Our poster was ready... it read...

Margaret and Brian had courtside seats ( lucky ducks) and so Margaret did a great job of displaying this poster for us.  We knew she would need to show it often enough before LaceDarius actually made his "title winning" basket, so that the camera would know to pan to her when he did... yes we had a strategy... being famous isn't easy... Anyways, when the time came, the camera panned directly to Margaret and Brian, clear as day... however the poster was not so ready...  all because Lace missed his first free throw... by the time he made the second and clinched the Title, the camera had moved on... either way, that makes 4 Webbs and 4 posters that clearly made national TV... As the game went on you could clearly pick out the posters Emily and I were holding... The Bears looked like they had this game in the bag, but unfortunately Texas came back to win... It was a very Happy day with a not so happy ending... :(  Hopefully we can make a good showing in the tournament...

On a side note: I am signing autographs and I am in the process of writing my autobiography...

sssttttrrreeeeeeeeeeeettttccccchhhhhh!

Oh my word am I being stretched!!!! This week has brought on some round ligament pains, ones that my doctor wanted me to come and get checked out for...  Note to self: try not to freak out when the doctor says "Why don't you come on in so I can check you out."  When I called this morning to tell her about them, that was her response... I had about 45 min. before I would need to leave work and I really wasn't too worried... until I got in the car and started driving.  My amazing husband was allowed by his wonderful boss to go with me, even though he was in a meeting.  Just having him there with me calmed me down.  It took a little while for the doctor to come in the room, but Brad made sure he kept me entertained... I was laughing so hard! She finally came in, talked a little bit and then started checking everything.  As it turns out she was wanting to make sure that the pain wasn't small contractions and that my cervix wasn't trying to dialate... No dialation and no contractions = Everything is just fine! I was so relieved!!!!! Dr. said that I was measuring great, Tucker was moving all over the place, and his heart beat was nice and strong!  Now if only the stretching pains would stop... even though I am sure they will continue for quite some time... baby has to make room for himself!

On a lighter note, more and more students are starting to realize that I am pregnant... here are some recent comments:

3rd grade boy who found out last week that I was pregnant:

Boy (today): Mrs. Remy have you had your baby yet?
Me: No! He isn't due until July!
Boy: Oh Ok!
Me: He has to cook a little while longer...
Boy: Cook? (very confused face) Are you going to eat him?
--- First he thought that pregnancy lasted about a week and then he thought I was going to eat my baby... poor kid, I did try to explain to him what "just an expression" meant... I think he got it?

1st grade hispanic boy in broken English:

Boy: You having a baby?
Me: Yes!
Boy: Why?
Me: Because I wanted a little baby!
Boy: Is it boy or girl?
Me: It's a boy!
Boy: (smile of delight) You choose have one?
Me: (understanding he was asking if I had mulitple babies in my belly) Yes, just one baby!

5th grade girl who gives me a hug everytime she sees me:
Girl: Hey Mrs. Remy- insert side hug-
Me: Hi! how are you?
Girl: I'm good - insert her hand on my tummy- is he kicking?
Me: Not right now, but he does kick me a lot!
Girl: -insert another 5th grade girl coming to give me a hug- BE CAREFUL! (to the other girl) Don't hurt the baby!

1st grade girl running to tell her teacher a secret... I was talking with her teacher:
Girl: (whispering in her teachers ear) I am going to give Mrs. Remy a baby shower!

So Sweet!

I am definitely glad to be around kids and their sweet/innocent comments and way of thinking during this pregnancy... they say the "darndest things!"

Tucker is getting big!!! I woke up Tuesday morning to find him right underneath my belly button... he had been much lower...needless to say, it made my stomach pop out!!!

My favorite qoutes from kids this week:

5th grade girl- "Mrs. Remy, I don't mean to offend you, but are you pregnant?"

1st grade girl- "You cut your hair and you got fat"

The hair cut was total impulse... I was just going in for a trim/highlight and on my way there I decided I wanted to cut off a good bit of length.  I am happy with it, Brad likes it, and I officially have a "mommy do!"

Ooops!

Well my prego brain has hit an all time High... or Low depending on how you look at it!  Today I ran into the store... I came out about 30 minutes later and when I got to my car I couldn't figure out why the empty car next to me was running???? When I got in my car I couldn't figure out why my AC was on??? When I looked down and saw my keys in the ignition I figured it all out... Oooops! 

Bedding!!!!

Here it is! Tucker's baby bedding!

It is by Dwell Studio, from Target.  I was super impressed with the price and I am excited about decorating around it.  It took me a long time to decide whether I wanted the bedding to be the focal point of the room or if I wanted it to be the color pallet that got my creative juices flowing... I think that this one does a little bit of both!  It will definitely stand out in the room but at the same time I am not tied to a theme and can mix and match lots of fun boy items!!!  I will hopefully get it this week, so I really can't wait to see it in person!   We really like this crib as well and since the bedding was such a great price, we just might spring for it! 

Tucker has been moving a lot this week, which I absolutely love! Sometimes I worry if everything is ok... no real reason, just because... but as soon as I do, God nudges Tucker and makes him move for me! I love my gracious God and my sweet baby boy!  Such a precious moment in time!

On the other hand, I have been experiencing some round ligament pains... nothing horrible, but enough to notice that they are there.  Streeeeetch it out! Also, sleeping is becoming slightly uncomfortable... last night if I layed on my side my back hurt and if I layed on my back my stomach hurt, it was a viscious cycle, but I ended up half on my back, half on my side.  Seemed to work out ok.  I can't believe I am halfway there!!! Starting my 21st week!

Memories...

I have always prided myself with having an excellent memory! Somewhat photographic, somewhat just sharp... anyways since I found out I was pregnant, my memory has been FAILING... my mom used to tell me how great her memory was before she had kids, but I have to admit I never really believed her, I just thought that was a normal mom thing to say... Sorry mom, and I believe you now! 

The memory loss started with little things, forgetting something at the store, losing my train of thought mid- sentence,  leaving for work without my pants on... you know little things.  I chalked most of them up to just being so excited to be pregnant and having a lot on my mind!

Well, I believe it is time for me to face the music... I am losing my mind!  Thursday, I got totally turned around driving to my dentist appointment in the neighboring town, not an area that I frequent, but I have been there enough to know where I am going... As I was driving to my appointment, I realized I was going to be about 5-10 minutes early... no big deal, just my efficiency at its best... by the time I got to my appointment I was 5-10 minutes late... I hear several loved ones saying "That's the Remy I know..." Anywho, I could not figure out where I was or how to get where I was going...I called Brad, my save all when it comes to directions, but he was in his weekly meeting... I kept driving and called back... still no answer.  After more driving around I decided to call my mother in law... She picked up right away and when I told her what was happening we had to pause our conversation for some deep hearted laughter...Luckily she knew exaclty where I was and was able to get me to my dentist appointment no problem...

I can't describe how stupid and confused I felt that afternoon... I had given myself a headache from over thinking and getting nowhere! haha! I laughed about it a good bit as did Brad once I told him the events of the day...

All this to say, I am slowly losing brain cells... I mean giving them to Tucker :)  So if I call you randomly, please pick up... it is likely that I am lost and need you to find me!

19 Weeks Sonogram

Let me just say that this was the most fun sonogram yet! I have only had one other, but this one takes the cake! We got to see our little guy move and squirm so much, it was precious!  So here is how we found out it was a boy...

Sono lady: "look there are the legs"
Me: "Aww his little legs"... "I mean or hers... I keep doing that!"
Sono lady: " You guessed the right gender, its a Boy!"

Me: "Really?!?!"

Sono lady: " Really"
Brad: "Yes!" (in a proud manly voice)

We were so excited and still are!!! I was a little nervous at first though, because the sono lady could tell it was a boy right away and when she showed us how she knew it was, we were less than convinced.  So she said she would take her measurements and move around and see if he would give us a better angle!  After the first set of measurements, she went back and well... he was holding it, I laughed, and Brad said "that's home base" (again in a proud manly voice)!  She took some more measurements and then went back one more time and our doubts were erased... I will let the picture do the talking...

Footprint!

As I said in the last post, Tucker weighs 12 1/2 oz.  This is 4 more oz. than his developmental stage!  My first thought was that my due date was off, but the dr. said everything else is on target for my due date... which is when Brad reminded me that he was a 9lb. baby! Yikes! In case you are wondering I am only 5'4" and weigh roughly 127lbs... remember when you were younger and your mom or grandma would tell you that if you swallowed a watermelon seed that you would grow a watermelon in your belly... well, I haven't swallowed any seeds, but I have a feeling I will be delivering a watermelon in July!
