Well here is a story for you… An update if you please! This past week has brought on a lot of first… starting last Sunday when I had a few contractions, some Braxton hicks and one or two normal ones… Called the Dr. Monday and everything was ok.
Then Wednesday my feet and ankles were SUPER swollen and if I pressed my finger into the swelling it stayed indented, on top of that I was seeing floaters and stars… I was sure that my blood pressure was through the roof, so called the Dr. again and while I awaited her callback, I had my blood pressure taken by the school nurse and went to the pharmacy to use one of those free pressure cuffs…. My blood pressure was in a normal range, so my Dr. sent me home to get my feet elevated and to pump lots of fluid! The rest did my body good, and my feet have looked better than they have in two weeks.
Then came Friday night…. Brad headed out to the ranch Friday afternoon, so I was being lazy, laying on the couch watching TV…. Around 5:30 I started noticing some painless contractions, I decided I should time them just to make sure they were Braxton Hicks again… After an hour of timing, the contractions were coming every 5 minutes… So again I called the Dr. and I was instructed to drink a hefty glass of water, rest, and call her back if they intensified. By 8:30 (3 hours after they started) the contractions were coming every 3-5 minutes… again they were almost completely painless. Called the Dr. back and off to the hospital I was. I called Brad to let him know I was on my way and had his sister Emily meet me up at the Hospital, Thank the Lord she wasn’t busy, because I needed the company for sure! I didn’t want Brad to have to leave the ranch unless I was going to be admitted to the hospital, besides I was 90% sure I wasn’t in labor.
I got to the Hospital and was immediately hooked up to all kinds of monitors… Tucker’s heartbeat was nice and strong, the contractions were still consistent, and my blood pressure was on the verge of being high. The nurse checked my cervix and it was closed! Although, I have started to thin (efface). She ruled the contractions as “non-labor contractions” but needed to keep monitoring me to make sure they didn’t intensify or become painful… I was given a LARGE cup of water and sucked it all down! After another hour or so, the contractions were the same, not intensifying and still painless. They were still a little concerned about my blood pressure and ran some blood work just to double check everything. Then they gave me a shot to “Knock Out” the contractions… The shot made me real shaky and weak feeling, but apparently it was supposed to. It stopped the contractions and after another hour I finally got to go home! My instructions were to rest and drink lots of fluid and to follow up with my doctor on Monday. Also, unless the contractions became painful and consistent, than I was ok! Emily drove me home and spent the night just in case… but this morning we both woke up well rested!
I have had contractions all day, the same kind, painless, but within the last couple of hours they seem to have gone away! At 34 weeks Tucker could use a little extra time in the cooker so I am glad that I seem to be doing ok again… It looks like there will be lots of resting in my future! I will do my best to keep the blog well posted on any updates!

I'm glad everything's okay and that Tucker doesn't have plans to come TOO early! I love the pics of your showers - it looks like you had a good time & got some great gifts.
