The First Day…

Well here I am, my first day of school  Work, I was so excited! I couldn’t wait to get up and get dressed and meet new friends.

1st day of work 006

Brad surprised me with these fun desk necessities

1st day of work 002

and I couldn’t wait to use them!

The first day was filling out a bunch of personal paper work, and HR stuff.  But the next day I got to spend some time with the kids and I loved it!!!!  I still cannot believe how great God is! I know He is, but it still surprises me every time! Will I ever learn that He really is in control.  Geez!!!! I am now fully submerged in my new job and I am loving it.  The first week was a little rough because I had to work on file after file after file for all of our students.  But this past Thursday, I finally got to really do my job! I love working with the kids so much! The best part of my day is when one of them will pass me in the hall and say “Hi Mrs. Remy” or when they give me a hug! So rewarding!  God is so good!

Fall has come to the Webb House!!!!

Fall 002

Fall has been at our house for a little over a week now, and I am absolutely loving it.  I haven’t always been real big on decorating for the holidays, but with help from my friend Brittney, I was inspired.

Fall 006

Last year Brittney made me this cornucopia (sp?) So cute! So last Monday when I came home from the store with candy corns,  my heart was ready for fall!  I pulled Brittney’s creation out of my “fall” box and started decorating.  Brad was actually excited that our house was decorated for fall and loves the candy corns. I have made some additions this year such as

Fall 009

The turkeys and the flower arrangement

Fall 013

This pumpkin, so cute in person!

Fall 010

This pumpkin and napkins!

Fall 005

and this little pumpkin showcase!

You just can’t beat Hobby Lobby and their 50% off sales!

Sidenote Story:  The first picture with the word “FALL” was a fun little project that Brittney and I did with our sweet friend Margie!  Margie was admitted to the hospital on Friday, because she went into pre-term labor with her twin baby girls! Through the power of prayer the labor was stopped and those babies will hopefully stay in her belly for the next two months.  But, that means Margie is on hospital bed rest until then.  So we had to have a “Fall” intervention last night!  Brittney and I arrived at the hospital around 8:30 ( i had to work ) and three hours later our masterpieces were finished!  Margie is doing really well and the babies are great, Dad is a little tired with late nights and early mornings but he is hanging in there! Please keep praying for this sweet family! Kendall and Emery we are all so excited to meet you but we CAN wait til your done cookin in your Momma! So stay in there!  Here are some pictures that Brittney took last night, they are on her blog too!

My New Job!!!!!!!!!

So for those of you I have not been able to tell personally here is the biggest update of our lives!!! I got a new job! I am sooooooo super excited about this position and I am incredibly Thankful that God works all things together for the good of those he loves!  So here is how it all came together…

Early this past summer my friend Margie told me about this position at her school that she thought would be great for me… I said great, and she told me she would get me more information as she figured it out.  The week before school started she finally figured out what everything was and got me connected with CIS (Community in Schools).  I applied right away and couldn’t believe the greatness of this organization!!! Unfortunately, they didn’t have any positions available, but they were going to save my application and resume.  So i had given up on it.  But God totally had a plan… 2 weeks ago Margie called me from school and said that there was a position available and I needed to make sure all my stuff was in… I ended up having to resend my resume and everything because apparently it got lost?  But a few days later I was called for an Interview! I was shocked and nervous! But after faithful friends and family praying for me , the interview went great! and as of Thursday last week I was officially offered the Job!!!!!

My position is called Case Manager,  I am at one of the local elementary schools, and I start Oct. 1, 2009!!!! I will be working school hours, and will still be coaching gymnastics for a little extra income!

I feel whitty o so whitty, I feel....

I am trying to inspire myself to write a new post... and this song has been running through my head all morning long. I changed the words a little bit, but it always reminds me of the movie Anger Management, When Adam Sandler is forced to sing it! Haha! Anyways, sorry I haven't posted about life in a while but here are a few blogs that will tell you what I did over labor day... Emily and Kolby, Tricia and Jeff, and Debby and Dan. I feel that my inspirational song will pay off soon! Be patient with me!

Busy Life = Lack of Blogging!

Life has been super busy around here. And my camera was in the hands of one of our friends until a few days ago and so I have no pictures... sorry! But I will give you an update anyways!

2 weeks ago Brad and I headed up a VBS at Ana's Apartments. It was a lot of work... I had just finished volunteering at our church's VBS and I had no idea how much planning and hard work really goes into these things. I definitely had my hands full. But with help from some of our awesome youth and Bilingual parents we were able to pull it off. Sandra, was a huge help/life saver. She told the Bible story every day, in spanish, while here 3 yr old and 1 yr old ran around and acted like the big kids. She was such a blessing. We also had crafts and Rec which I let the youth head up and they did a great job. The kids loved it... and then I got to play a special part as well. I got to lead the music, consisting of Father Abraham (Padre Abraham), I have the Joy (Yo Tengo Gozo), Lord's Army ( O' Si ), and Waves of Mercy (Olas de Gracias y Micericordia). I have been blessed with the ability to remember these songs in Spanish from my seven mission trips to Mexico in High School and College. I love how God uses things! Anyways as the week came to a close, we presented the plan of salvation to the Kids and were shocked with the outcome! Some of the Mom's of the kids stayed around and would listen to the story and help with the craft, on this particular day there were 7 of them there. As the Kids repeated the prayer and accepted Christ into their hearts, The Mom's all did too! We were so excited! We knew God had us there for the Kids but to know that he had a bigger plan for some of there Mom's brought us all so much Joy. In the Hispanic Culture if you can get the Mom you can get the family. Our Prayer is now that those Moms will tell their families and their families will also become believers! It was the Perfect ending to VBS! Praise the Lord!!!

That weekend my Brothers and Sister in law came in town. Chris (the youngest) came up on Friday and had all of us cracking up as he is known to do! We tried out Amazing Jakes which we thought would be a fun place for adults as well... not so much, but o well we laughed alot. Just to give you a visual... Brad and his childhood friend Chase road together in a two seater Go-Kart, not only were we laughing histaricly but the kids watching them were pointing and laughing too, o and I forgot to mention the size of the Go-Kart Track, picture a small cul-de-sac, put a median in the middle with Bumpers for sides and you have the size of the track... Enough said. Vince and Autumn came over later that evening to play video games (at least thats what the boys did). Autumn and I love to do random house projects and this time it included acidently breaking two plates off of my plate wall and then decided to make a mosaic plate out of it! Which is beautiful! And then after that we decorated above my cabinets in my kitchen... Thanks Autumn for all your help! I love how it turned out! On Saturday we took the boat out and Vince and Autumn came along again.... We are really going to miss them when they move, but congrats on finding a house... hope yall get it!!!!.... anyways, after some extreme tubing and maybe a little rough tubing we decided to head home and shower... V and A brought over pizza and it was another fun filled night of Wii, this time A and I participated! Alex (older brother) and Lane (sister-in-law) arrived around 10pm. They were at a wedding and were exhausted from lots of driving and wedding activities! but we chatted with them for a while before heading to bed. We all went to church the next morning and then went to Babe's after for lunch... So delicious! Everyone had to head back after lunch but it was really great to see my brothers and sister in law.

Last week was just as busy... Margaret (Brad's mom) turned 50 on Saturday and we had a huge surprise party planned out for her. Emily was in charge of most of the planning and I was in charge of getting decorations, birthday cake, and distractions. Since the surprise party was going to be at the newly just about completed Ranch, we had a lot of things to work through. All of us were to meet Brian and Margaret at the Ranch on Friday night for the weekend. "unfortunately" none of us would be able to stay past Saturday "morning". We all "left" after breakfast to "head home", and Brian was taking Margaret out to a late birthday lunch. We obvioulsy never left town and went back to the Ranch to set up for the party while Margaret was gone. So here is how it all panned out.... a couple of weeks ago I had to call the mattress place where we got the beds and mattresses and push up the delivery date. After talking the sales rep into scheming with me in order to make Margaret believe that I had no involvement... we accomplished our goal. Margaret called after getting off the phone with the mattress guy to tell me the date had been pushed up, and I acted completely shocked... We also managed to get all the curtains ordered and ready for pick up. I endured two long shopping days with Margaret at Sam's and then Bed Bath and Beyond... I say endured because I was so excited about the surprise party that it was really hard to be around the person we were surprising. In fact on day two of shopping I had to call Emily for a pep talk. I had just told Margaret what time we were going to be "leaving" on Saturday and her face hosted the most disappointed look.... SO HARD, not to crack! Emily helped me through...I am such a softy.... Anyways, Brian and Margaret went to the Ranch on Thursday and we were finally in the clear for the most part. I made the birthday cake on friday which crumbled to pieces by the time it came to reveal it on Saturday... another funny story.... and we loaded up Brad's truck with tables and chairs and other items we needed for the party from Margaret's house. We "picked up" Emily from work and headed down to the ranch, really her and Kolby were following us. Once we got to the ranch we unloaded everything into the barn which conviently sits out of sight of the house. We parked Emily and Kolby's car inside and they "rode" with Brad and I to the house. Margaret still had no idea... We made it all the way through Friday night, frantically getting things set up, making Margaret believe we were just so excited to be there (which we were) that we wanted to get as much done as possible.... After all of that Saturday went perfectly... and when Brian and Margaret returned to the ranch, she had a huge surprise waiting for her. Bonus part of the party for me was that my Mom came and actually helped set up for the party. She made an appetizer, that was a huge hit, and helped us finish up the flower decorations. Thanks mom, we couldn't have done it with out you! It was really great to see you!!!!! The party was great and so much fun!!!

Sunday night Brad and I joined up with Emily's friends to take her out to a surprise Birthday dinner, since her birthday was consumed with her Mom's 50th (yes they have the same birthday). It was a great time of fun and fellowship and after all of Emily's hard work she deserved to be celebrated.

So that has been a recap, sorry so long, of life here at the Webb's. More entries to come more often now I hope!

The Dog Days of Summer…Literally Speaking

This morning Brad went and helped his parents move some things into a storage shed while I spent some time with our pups.  Nala (rhodesian) loves to run and fast I might add.  My mom calls her our horse, which in a way she does have similar mannerism.  For instance, she runs like a horse, all four legs come off the ground together, its really neat to watch.  Bentley (Mutt) is our little explorer and our “alcoholic” as Brittney’s dad would say, because he can’t hold his “licker”… haha!  He will lick you spotless.  Anyways, I started off the morning by taking the dogs across the street to the park.  They love getting to run and explore, Nala is pretty good about staying in our eyesight, where as Bentley likes to wander behind fences and trees to where we can’t see him… crazy guy.  But when it is time to go they are both pretty good about coming and getting back on their leashes.  This morning our time at the park got cut a little short because of a decapitated animal whose guts were spilling out everywhere.  Obviously, both dogs were overly intrigued by the smell of fresh blood and… need i say more?  Nala is really strong and at one point she got over to the deceased before I could get her to stop, knowing that I wouldn’t be able to pull her off, I ran at her full speed hoping that she would move out of the way… instead she laid down on her back and surrendered, waiving her white flag.  I laughed and home we went.  I decided that it was so hot outside that the dogs needed to be cooled off in the sprinklers and below is how it all went down…

Too much Rock for one hand baby…

46808a

In order to sum up the past couple of weeks I needed to reach back in my movie collection and pull out “Stick It”! One of my favorites, and thanks to Caylin I own it!

**disclaimer don’t google “Stick it” for images… especially if you have young children in the room… my bad**

So Life…

Brad and I have been able to enjoy the company of our families and friends for the past several weeks and it has been so much fun!

Over the 4th, My mom and Dad (Gary) came in town to help us celebrate America… not so much Obama, but definitely America! The boys golfed early on Friday and mom and I had a late breakfast at Cafe Brazil and followed it up with massages!  We did a little shopping at Old Navy and Eye masters (mom wanted some new shades) and then met back up with the boys.  We made a delicious sopapilla cheesecake and then headed over to the Webb’s for more family fun.  Margaret’s (Brad’s Mom) side of the family was in town and it was the forth annual “Gordon family reunion” (always over the 4th of July)  Let the games begin should really be the theme, because that's what we do!  We started off with “things” a fun family game, that you can get at target ( shout out #2 for Cay).  Then we split into smaller groups and played different card games (spades, golf, fruit salad, and more) and shuffle board.  Dad and Russell (Brad’s lil Bro) wrecked shop the first night and were crowned champs! Way to go Dad, you won your way in!  We had so much fun hanging out all together and I was so glad that my mom and dad got to be there!  They fit right in… which might have something to do with the fact that my mom and Brad’s mom accidently lit our unity candle together before Brad and I even said I do!  They are two of a kind for sure!  Thanks for the fun weekend Mom and Dad!

Brad and I have also been blessed with several friends in the area!  We celebrated Matt’s birthday a few weeks ago and had so much fun! We went on a double date with Caylin and Stephen (Blind date on their end).  We finally hung out with the Walsh’s again.  Chase came over for Dinner last week and so many other things that I can’t remember!

Then this past weekend Dad (Scott) came in town for some Birthday celebrating and more fun!  Friday we ate an early dinner and then I had to work open gym for a few hours, so the boys went and shot some pool and played some shuffle board.  The next day was “my day” (Brad’s words… he’s so sweet) and we went to Bread Winners for breakfast and then willow bend for shopping!  I got these for my birthday! Mine are White and Brown, instead of red. and a few fun shirts from Anthro!

  Coach-Tasha-Sunglasses_17002_right_angle_large

That night we headed to a rough riders game to meet some of my co- workers and Caylin and Stephen got to come along (date 2, if anyone is counting)  I don’t think I had laughed so hard in my life! My dad was cracking me up! After the game we went to Dave and Busters for continued celebration of my birthday!  Seriously this was some of the most fun I have had in a long time!  We all raced each other and played against each other in Basketball, which I was the surprise winner of the bball games! Thank you very much! Maybe Brad did marry me for my basketball skills? “Make it Rain!”  We also played this trivia game in which Dad won every time! It was ok with me though, because he was contributing to my ticket collection.  By the end of the night Brad and I decided that we would have “hammerheads” instead of kids and Caylin and Stephen were the proud owners of a Jay- Z chain, later to be bedazzled!

Sunday, Caylin and I didn’t want the fun to end and went shopping together! She got a super cute dress (that she wore for date #3) and I got some cute shorts!

To top it all off, this Thursday is my 24th birthday, and that my friends is “Too much ROCK for one hand!”

I brokeded it… :(

remember when you were a kid and would over pronounce the word broke to “brokeded.”  Well for what ever reason it always made it seem a little better.  When my little brother would tell me he “brokeded it” I was always more forgiving, poor guy didn’t know what he was doing.  Well I hope it still works because now I have to tell Brad that I “brokeded it”.  It being the computer that we just got fixed.  Today as I was walking it over to plug it back in, it brokeded, on the ground.  While the actual computer is still completely functional, the screen is busted.  Its got these lines across it that look like broken glass.  I guess its a good thing that I bought the connection wire to plug it into the TV, because it shows up on the TV screen just fine.  Sorry Brad.  I didn’t mean too.

I am a Gymnastics Coach!!!!

I am so stinking excited about my new job.  After a while of not finding anything, the perfect opportunity finally came to!  Thanks God, I am not sure of your timing all the time but this was a slam dunk!  (As it always in when you rely on Him)

Growing up as a gymnast I dreamed of being in the Olympics one day.  I would practice all over the house, in the backyard, my bed wherever I could, I just loved gymnastics.   I competed for several years and can still remember some of my best routines and performances that I gave.  There was this one time on beam where I had completely destroyed my routine… i just couldn’t keep my balance.  During my dismount which was a kartwheel to hand stand , and twist over the beam thing,  I bent my arms to where my head was touching the beam, but since I only weighed like 50 pounds and was stronger than I will ever be, I pushed myself all the way back up to a perfect handstand and finished the dismount.  It was then that my coach (Van was his name) told me that I was superwoman!  I also remember getting first place on vault and floor.

Well as I got older and wiser I realized that flipping all over the place was a little scary and that I could really hurt myself… stupid fear, it always gets in the way of things… anyways in the 7th grade I decided to give up on gymnastics and move on to cheerleading.  Now cheerleading does have a lot of flipping but it was all on the ground… not on a beam.  So until I was senior in high school I cheered my heart out it was my favorite thing to do.  I even tried out in college (twice, but only cuz my roommates made me.)  And again the whole fear or flipping thing got in the way, so I didn’t make it… I have missed everything about gymnastics and cheerleading ever since.  And now I get to relive my dream through the lives of little fearless girls!  I have even brought back some of my own skills.  I am still working on the whole flexibility thing, but tonight I did some tumbling and it was so much fun!  As Brad would say… now I get to work and work out all at the same time! Its wonderful!!!!   I love my job!

Sorry about the delay in blogging, but my computer was down for the count and I just got it back tonight!!!!

We went sailing… if you couldn’t tell by the title.  My dad has a boat at Kemah which is real close to Galveston.  It was the absolute, most perfect, beautiful day for sailing! The sun was shining and the wind was really blowing and in my dad’s words “We were Flyin’”  My Dad loves to sail, he goes on boating trips around the world to participate in races and what not.  IT is so much fun for him!

My NEW Obsession

I have always loved my sweets... Eating them, Making them, and Eating them again! Now I love to watch them! I have been completely obsessed with the cake shows that come on Food Network, TLC and Bravo. Recently, the Food Network Challenge was all about cakes.... They started out with 6 pastry chefs and this last sunday they reveiled the $50,000 winner. I love this stuff! My favorite one to watch is the one about Charm City Cakes in Philly! I really wish that I was an employee of a bakery, although, the cakes and other treats would mysteriously start to disappear along with my waist line! It is fun to dream about though! Thanks for letting me share my new obsession!

I am LOVING this weather!!!

I have loved everyday of weather that we have had this week! I even have a little tan on my arms and shoulders! SO GREAT! Since this next week is supposed to be a lot of rain, I decided that I needed to take note of this amazing weather. On Tuesday I laid outside and read my book before going to Brad's flag football game. On Friday I walked around the Downtown square with Emily and Margaret, a little more sun! When we got home I took Nala and Bentley to the park, They absolutely loved it, they always do, but Nala especially loved it this time.

Nala loves to run and run and run, she is crazy fast so I think it is the only way she gets her energy out. I had forgotten to bring a toy or ball to throw with me, so the two of them had to find their own entertainment and I just watched. Bentley did his usual exploring and marking (peeing) and Nala started to run round and round. Nala soon found a couple of friends to chase at the park. Two Birds kept flying in and landing just long enough for Nala to chase after them and then they would fly quickly up in the air away from Nala. Even as they were flying Nala was racing after them, a couple of times I thought she was going to catch them. I swear the birds were having fun playing chase with Nala, because they could have so easily flown off to where Nala couldn't reach them. But they kept coming back for more... Nala stayed at her top speed for most of the park visit and definitely wore herself out. She let me know how tired she was by laying down in the only small little mud puddle there was in the entire park. She proceeded to roll in the mud and cool off, despite my efforts of keeping her out of it, and then would try to chase after the birds again. Her pace was at a jogging speed at best. She just didn't have anything left. After another few minutes in the mud to cool off, I walked them home and immediately gave her and Bentley baths ( or Brad did, but whose checking).

Saturday we were out at a birthday party for Emma, so much fun in the sun, at the park and then I came home and Autumn and I did some much needed trimming of the shrubs outside. More Sun! We finished by taking the dogs back over to the park and letting them burn most of their energy. Needless to say, I have a tan! and lines, but again whose checking?

I love the Sun, I love Texas Hot weather, I am lovin' it!!! Now bring on the rain, I will find a way to love it too!

Whats this another post...?

Today I contribute my inspiration to write a new post to the boredom that I am currently facing at work... I have 30 minutes before I am supposed to leave and I have already finished everything I had for today. I am such a quick little worker! Ha Ha. I am the type of person that likes to get stuff done, I don't like to leave things half done, it drives me crazy. I think that is one of the reasons I don't like to do laundry... it is always half done! The only way to get it all done and not have anymore to do is to sit around your house necked all day long while doing load after load of laundry. Why do you have to be necked you ask? Because if you are wearing clothes then you will have to wash them after you take them off. It is miserable! Why most laundry be so miserable??? And boys laundry at that, my husband, love that man, has more clothes than a department store and he wears all of them. He recently did a massive clean out of his closet and drawerers and I mean massive and he still collects about 30 lbs of laundry a day. Anyways, that is my rant for today... I need to do something productive before I leave!!!

I love it....

Today was a great day... The best thing about it was that it was a very ordinary day! I went to work, it was the usual day and then I went to the store, I came home and I cooked dinner. The whole cooking dinner thing is not the most normal thing that I do, I just never seem to have time, but today I did and it was great. Thanks to Christy she gave me a really easy recipe for chili cheesy enchiladas. O man were they good! The best thing is that you can make as little or as much as you want and you don't waste anything... always a problem when you are only cooking for two! So Brad and I ate dinner, which is so nice, to sit down and just be together. We cleaned up and then took the dogs on a walk, it was such a pretty day. Nice and warm and windy... I love Spring on a side note! Thats all I have really... sorry if you were bored! But atleast I posted!!!! Yay!

Just Because...

One of my favorite things to get and give are "just because" gifts... I think they are so fun and thoughtful. It's kind of like saying "no its not your birthday and no its not Christmas, its just because. My mom used to get me just because gifts all the time... or don't tell dad until later gifts!!! HaHa! Anytime she would go shopping or somewhere fun she would always bring me home something cute! They were normally pretty girly and since I was the only girl it was always perfect. Well, I don't know if I was sending off some kind of vibe or auora, but this past week I got two just because gifts! Brad gave me the first one... a package of reduced fat (I hope he is not trying to tell me something!)oreo's and a note that said I love you and I am proud of you in so many words!! Then, my friend Autumn showed up at my house with the cutest little candle plate and a welcome bear! Autumn and I both went to Baylor at the same time, only we never met until our husbands who have been best friends since grade school introduced us. Boys are so bad at introductions! anywhoo's she knows how much I love Baylor and little bears and so when she saw it she thought of me and got me one! She has one too, so its pretty perfect! So now I am on the just because gift train and I am finding myself trapped between a budget and a cute little gift that I really shouldn't buy! Maybe I will just focus on "just because" cards... I could even put a picture of the gift that I would want to get that person in the card... oh, just call me cheap already!! So this is a just because post! To all my friends and family, know that I am thinking about you today... JUST BECAUSE!!!!

"I'm Yours!"

Last Saturday was another one of those days where God blows me away with His incredible blessings for me. I had to work all day and night on Saturday and was absolutely exhausted by the time I got home. My day was pretty normal, nothing out of the usual until Saturday night at the wedding I was working. We had just sent the Bride and Groom off in their horse drawn carriage when a panicked woman from the wedding told me to call 911. There was a girl in the bathroom passed out and shaking all at once. The bathroom was filled with people and was about 100 degrees (literally). I knew I had to get her some air, cool air, and although they always say don't move a injured person, we had no choice. her sister and I picked her up and carried her out to the hallway... the paramedics arrived and she regained consciousness and off in the ambulence she went. She will be fine. This is what happens when you drink too much. Obviously the staff was a little shaken up by the whole incident and it made the rest of the evening a little uneasy...

Now God's blessing. As I am driving home and reflecting on the evenings events I called Brad. He had just gotten home and was waiting for me so we could go to bed. Again, exhausted and ready to crawl in my warm bed, I fumble for my keys and unlock the door. I was struck with Joy as I opened the door. Big bright yellow roses and a card that read "My Baby"! I couldn't believe it, not only did I get roses and a card he also bought me two hot pads and a dish towel that I had seen at world market and pointed out to him. They are the colors of our kitchen and I just loved them when I saw them at the store several days earlier. My heart was filled with warmth as I read the sweet card and saw the smile on Brad's face. He made me feel so extra special for no particular reason. He just wanted to let me know how much he loved me and to remind me "I'm Yours!"

God, you have blessed me with the most incredible husband anyone could ask for. He makes me laugh, cry, and smile all the time. I don't know why you chose me to be so blessed, but Thank You, Thank You, Thank You! Please help Brad and I grow in your perfect will. Lord we want to change the world someday and only you can help us do that! I love you Father, thank you for the love you have given me and shown to me through Brad. Amen

For those of you who haven't heard Brad has been called to missions. He is the new Missions Pastor at our church and although he will really miss the youth, He is so excited to see where God is taking him. We are not leaving the country or moving or anything like that, we are focusing on our community. Together, one day, all of us will change the world for Jesus! I am so excited for you, Brad. You are truly a man after God's own heart!
